You, not the trustee. Nine phases have made a sparse directory beautiful, fast and honest — and none of that makes it less sparse. Only institutions listing themselves does that. The whole design here rests on one observation: a trustee will not fill in a web form, but they will answer a WhatsApp message from someone they know, and they will read one printed page.
Step one
A message you can send in the next two minutes
Three variants, because the opening line is what decides whether the rest gets read. Each is five lines. Replace the words in brackets before you send — they are instructions to you, not text for them.
To someone you know, or who was introduced to you
Use this when you can name the person who gave you the number. That name is doing most of the work — it is the difference between a message that is read and one that is not.

Use this when nobody sent you. It says so in the first line, deliberately — an office that later finds out you implied an introduction will not answer a second time, and a community directory cannot afford that.

To an institution already listed, but listed badly
The highest-yield message of the three, and the one to send first. A trustee will correct three wrong facts about their own derasar far more readily than they will create a listing from nothing — the work is smaller and the motivation is stronger.

Check the brackets. [NAME], [INSTITUTION] and [LINK] are for you to replace — a message that arrives still containing a square bracket says, accurately, that nobody read it before sending it.
Step two
A sheet you can hand over or attach
One page, in the language they read. Give it to a trustee at the end of a conversation, leave it at a sangh office, or attach the PDF to a message. It says what they get and what we need, and it has a box beside each field so it can be filled in with a pen.

Generated here and served from this site. We do not use a QR image service, because those record every scan on somebody else’s server — which is not a trade we get to make on a sangh’s behalf.
Look this up before you write. A trustee will correct three wrong entries far more readily than they will create ten from nothing — the work is smaller and it is about their own derasar. Showing them the gap is the ask.
This can only search the towns we know. Most of our records do not carry one at all, so an empty result does not mean we have nothing there — it may mean we have records we cannot place.
Step four
Where an hour is worth most
Computed from the live dataset every time this page is built, so it cannot drift from what the site actually holds.
Read this table with its limit in mind: it can only rank the 145 records whose town we know. The other 383 carry no town at all and cannot appear here — so the biggest row below is nowhere near the biggest gap on the site. The largest single thing you could fix is a record we cannot even place on a map.

Who can edit our listing?
Today, only us — and only on your instruction or from a source we name on the page. Nothing a stranger submits reaches the site without a person reading it first. When the app arrives, the institution itself will hold the login and you will edit it directly.
What happens to our data?
It is published on this site so people can find you, and that is all. It is not sold, not licensed, not given to an advertiser and not used to build a mailing list. If you ask us to remove a listing we remove it, and we do not ask you to justify the request.
Do we need the app?
No. The listing is on the website, which anyone can read on any device with no account and no download. The app adds things for members; it is not a condition of being listed.
Is there any charge, ever?
No. Listing a temple, sthanak, upashray, hall, bhojanshala, dharamshala or sangh is free and stays free. There is no commission on anything, and nobody at Jain Waves earns anything from your listing.
Ask for five things, and never a sixth
Every extra field halves the reply rate. Everything else — office bearers, photographs, the festival calendar — can be asked for later, once there is a listing to correct.
