Religious dates and practice

The panchang published here is computed astronomically and is not a Jain tithi. Each tradition prepares its own panchang by editing a base panchang under its own rules, and those rules differ — so two observant families can be on different tithis on the same morning, correctly. For any observance, follow the panchang your own sangh, temple or acharya publishes. Where it differs from this site, it is right and this site is not.

The pages describing rituals and practice set out what named sources record, with the tradition named each time. They are not a ruling and not a substitute for asking a guru or your own sangh.

Listings, timings and travel

Timings, contacts and facilities change without anyone telling us. Where a number came from a community directory rather than from the institution, the page says so on the number itself. Telephone before you travel. We are not responsible for a journey made on information that had gone out of date, though we would very much like to be told so it does not happen to the next person.

Other websites

We link to institutions and to sources. We do not control them and cannot vouch for what they publish. Every outbound domain was checked before it was published here, and several that circulate in Jain directories were left out because they are dead, parked, or now serve something else entirely — but a domain can change hands the day after we check it.
