What is stored in your browser

Only what the site needs to behave sensibly on your next visit — for example, remembering which of the three languages you chose. That is stored by your own browser, is readable only by this site, and is cleared whenever you clear your browser data. Nothing is used to build a profile of you and nothing is shared.

Why there is no consent banner

A consent banner exists to obtain permission for tracking that a site wants to do anyway. There is none here to ask about, so putting a banner in front of every page would be theatre — a thing that looks like care while costing every reader a click.

If that ever changes — if a measurement tool is added, or anything is embedded that sets a cookie of its own — this page will say so before it is switched on, and a banner will appear because there will finally be something to ask about.

What the site loads from elsewhere

Nothing that can identify you. The typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network, so reading a page here does not announce your visit to anyone else. The photographs, the stylesheet and the small amount of JavaScript all come from the same delivery network that serves the pages. There are no embedded videos, no maps, no social buttons, no comment widget and no chat box — each of which would be a third party watching over your shoulder.

When you send us something through a form, that request goes to our own server rather than to a form service. The forms do carry an anti-spam check, and it runs on our own server too: your browser is given a small puzzle to work out, which costs it a fraction of a second and costs a machine sending thousands of forms a great deal more. It sets no cookie, it does not identify you, it does not judge you, and it sends not one byte to anybody else. So there is still not a single third-party script on this website — we would rather keep that true than have a tidier spam filter.
